You can add rods to make it adequate line up. It comes handy to have spare for your grill. Adding the Grill Rods made perfect sense if I wanted to grill yakitori the proper way. Placing the skewers directly over the Binchotan charcoal without the sitting and being compressed on the Mesh Grill Grate is the right way to do yakitori and enhances the cooking experience and more importantly the flavor. Highly recommend the Grill Rods for the best tasting yakitori ever!
