His first visit to the United State was to San Francisco on his motorcycle in the 70's and left a great impression. He knew that he wanted to open a store in the US., and here we are as a result of the owner's love for the states. Hitachiya originally began as a store that carried industrial cookware for hotels and restaurants in Tsukiji, Tokyo. Masa opened HITACHIYA USA in 2011 Torrance California, finally, his dream has come true.
Masa’s first journey to the U.S (Apr-Aug 1970)
He always seeks unique items. He visits the area where the craftsmen work and talks to them. He also observes the skilled craftsmen how to craft it.
When he falls in love with the craft, he brings them with him.
