Learning to sharpen your knives is an essential cooking skill. 

A sharp knife does a better job of cutting or slicing food, but it also lets your work faster and safer.

The knife sharpening is not simple work.  We look very carefully and determine how to sharpen the knife. Listening to the sounds of the blade very carefully and when it makes beautiful sounds,  the sharpening is perfect. It can't be done by machine, it can be perfectly done, because manually sharpening on the stone.  We use 100% of our senses -HEARING,SIGHT and TOUCH when we sharpen the knives.

We instruct you how to sharpen the knife using senses and technique with our knowledge and experiences.

Led by a skilled instructor, you'll discover the joy of knife sharpening.

Beginner class

Get hands-on experience and learn how to sharpen knife traditional way.

What to expect;
Explore the history of Japanese knives.
Learn to sharpen your knife with basic technique to be able to maintain your knife for everyday use.
No experience necessary.
Enjoy fun and interactive sharpening experience.

Fee: class fee $165, material fee $15(sharpening stone and water tray)
What to bring: Apron, towel(s), your knife.(chef's knife(up to 8"), santoku knife or petty knife)

Weekday (No class: Tuesday) 10am - 11:30am
Saturday  10am -11:30am  Minimum number of participant 2

For Japanese 
Weekday (No class: Tuesday) 10am - 11:30am
Weekends 10am - 11:30am

Deep Dive class

Get hands-on experience and learn how to sharpen knife advanced techniques.
What to expect;
Explore about history of Japanese knife
Learn advanced sharpening techniques or someone who has no experience but wants to learn intensively.
Sharpening equipment and whetstone are provided.
Enjoy learning advanced techniques and upgrade your sharpening skill.

Fee: Class fee $300.00, material fee $20(sharpening stone and water tray)

What to bring: Apron, towel(s), your knives (2 knives)

SCHEDULE

For English 
Weekday (close Tuesday) 10am - 1pm
Saturday  10am-1pm  

For Japanese
Weekday (close Tuesday) 10am - 1pm
Weekends 10am - 1pm 

approximately 3hours session. (Includes 10 min break time)

Please wear shoes in the class for your safety.

You will be charged 100% of the class fee if you fail to attend the class on the day.
