We are very happy to announce that Blacksmith "Takeshi Saji and HITACHIYA USA collaboration collectable knife.

This knife is made of VG10 with beautiful damascus pattern blade which gives excellent cutting performance and razor sharp.  The widely curved heel to comfortably place your finger. The handle is made of micarta which delivers durable kitchen knife handles with strong performance for many years of reliable use.  Slightly curved shape handle makes relax, comfortable hold, it keeps palm in same place on the handle.

Blacksmith "Saji Takeshi"

Takeshi Saji is Echizen blacksmith. Echizen (Takefu-city, Fukui Pref. today) is well known as area of cutlery about 700 years of history in Japan. Takeshi is a third generation blacksmith and is a leading maker of outdoor custom knives in Japanese style, who also creating unique kitchen knives with ingenious ideas and traditional technology. A material of this knife is VG-10 which is one of the hardest steel materials used for a knife. You’ll be amazed that this edge is “super sharp” and it’s last long.

Use & Care
- Do not attempt to cut, hit or chop frozen products or bones. The blade can chip or break.
- Hand wash with warm water and towel dry.

- No dish washer

Completely hand forged and use VG10 in center of the blade with  Damascus pattern.  It gives amazing sharpness and excellent edge retention.
This line is made especially for use all purpose knife with skilled blacksmith in Echizen Takefu knife village which is in 700 years of history.

History of Gokaden
Japanese swords were researched after every battle and were renovated to improve its effects.  Furthermore, many talented blacksmiths started emerging during the late Heian to the Kamakura period and five producing districts-Yamato, Bizen, Yamashiro, Soushu, Mino-were established, each with their own style and technique in forging Japanese swords.  In the Katana industry, these five areas became generically known as the “Gokaden” during the Meiji period(1868-1911)
